Nenjam Marappathillai marks Yuvan and Selvaraghavan's collaboration after almost 10 years. Selva Raghavan’s latest offeringPuduppettai (Dhoopeta in Telugu) is a fine example of the latter. The film has music by composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. There are action packed screenplays with violence as thecentral theme and then there are screenplays where violence is the soul.Everything else is just superficial detail. The venture is produced by P Madhan, Gitanjali Selvaraghavan, Siddharth Rao and Anirudh Krishna under the banners of Escape Artists Motion Pictures, GLO Studios and Southside Studios respectively.
Prior to Naane Varuven, Selvaraghava n was working on his directorial venture Nenjam Marapathuillai, which hit the big screens on March 5 this year. Kollywood thriller Nenja m Marapathillai features actors SJ Suryah, Regina Cassandra and Nanditha Swetha in the lead roles.

The duo will be working together for the upcoming Tamil movie Naane Varuven. Selvaraghavan made his directorial debut with Kadhal Kondein starring his brother Dhanush. Dhanush and Selvaraghavan also collaborated for the acclaimed Tamil film Mayakkam Enna. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Arvind Krishna. Kumar joins Thalaivar's political party for immunity from police and arrests. Kumar grows even further in the underworld. Kumar survives and Thalaivar keeps him in place of Anbu. Thalaivar says if he could survive until the next day morning from Anbu's goon, who is seeking revenge, he would be bestowed with Anbu's area for business. Kumar infuriated kills Anbu and approaches Thalaivar (Azhagam Perumal).
